Dorie’s Espresso-Chocolate Shortbread is my favorite TWD recipe this month. But I’m a cookie freak and love chocolate and espresso together.

Can you believe I never tasted coffee until I was an adult?  My mom hated it–even the smell of it. But now?  I’m addicted and I especially enjoy coffee flavored desserts like these cookies or this coffee ice cream.

I always loved the smell of coffee. When I was a child I always wanted to pop the seal on the can of coffee. That was the freshest flavor. I did not really start drinking coffee regularly until I started college. When my other friends were picking up the beer habit I was starting on coffee. Still like it today – a lot – though I have switched primarily to decaf because of migraines. I’m glad you liked these, yours look great. Thanks for baking with me this week.

Beautiful cookies! My parents consumed mass amounts of coffee when I was growing up (still do) and definitely passed their coffee addiction to me. The oatmeal version sounds perfect for fall.

Since I left the coffee out of mine I ended up with just butter cookies with chips. good tho’. I want to try with Masala Chai. Just not a coffee fan.

I don’t think that I started enjoying the flavor of coffee until last year. Baking with it changes everything, for me at least. Now I actually look forward to that ‘coffee kick’ in my iced coffee from starbucks. It certainly livens up cookies and chocolate.

I love chocolate/espresso combo too! But for some reason I made the variation and didn’t love it. Your cookies look great!

Ciao ! I started very late driking coffe but I always loved the smell of fresly roasted coffe !! Beautiful shot !

I am also a ziplock lover–what a great method. I have never tasted coffee, the smell makes me sick. I have a hard time walking down the coffee aisle in the market! We are a ‘coffee free’ house so I made the oatmeal spice shortbread. Excellent!
