Tuesdays with Dorie: Oatmeal Breakfast Bread
I‘m at a loss for words on this one. Not my favorite but my husband liked it. Quick breads aren’t my thing I guess. Drop all those ingredients in a bread machine, add a little yeast, subtract the baking powder and soda and I’m in. You only have to look at my recipe index to see my yeast addiction.
Can’t wait to see what you did with this simple recipe. Hope you enjoyed it!

looks so artsy and homey. great shot.
Any bread is fine with me. I love to bake it all. Even though it didn’t appear to be your favorite, it looks mighty delicious!
Yours looks so good. Probably the best photo we’ll see of this bread. I found it hard to shoot. Glad your husband liked it…and now I’m off to look at all your yeasted bread posts!
Thanks for baking with me this week- Sorry it wasn’t your favorite!
I’ll try anything once, and this one I really enjoyed. Very pretty picture of a recipe you didn’t like!
Nice.
Your bread looks great!
Not my favourite either, but at least yours worked! I like the photo with the oats, but now I need to go look at that cardamom bread! You’re addicted to yeast, and me to cardamom!
I don’t like quick breads in the shape of bread, but disguise it into muffins or cake and I’m in.
Love the bread photo! I had trouble taking pictures myself (being extra tired never helps). Yeast breads are delicious, especially when just finished baking.
well at least the hubs liked it
and i am going yeast window shopping on your site to find some goodies to make as i just bought a large package of yeast and i’m eager to use it! any MUST MAKE recommendations?
Glad that it wasn’t a complete wash! I liked this one-next time, I’m adding chocolate!
i like all breads– quickie or yeasty!
I loved this – I am not much of a yeast products girl, so this was made for me. Your muffins look fab.
I agree, this one didn’t really capture me either. But your picture is lovely! That always consoles me after a less-than-stellar baking project.
Beautiful photo! Love your mini loaf with raisins. I’m glad your hubby enjoyed it!
This recipe got mix result. I skipped this week. I think if I do make it will be as muffins.
Mimi
I think your bread looks wonderfully delicious.
If you try this with yeast instead of soda, etc. let me know. I bet it would make a good bread.
I’m at a loss..it’s a wonderful looking loaf! Sorry it wasn’t your cup of “oatmeal” – but glad your husband enjoyed it! Actually, I gave the majority of it to my folks, who loved it too! Love the liner-look – very fitting and a gorgeous photo! Here’s to a peach tart!
Sorry this recipe wasn’t a hit for you, your mini loaves do look really delicious though!
Quick breads are my thing, so I loved this. Yours looks really nice!
