Tuesdays with Dorie: Milk Chocolate Mini Bundt Cakes

February 2, 2010

minibundt post

These mini bundt cakes taste like the chocolate cake of my childhood.  I loved them.

I had a little trouble with the icing. The melted chocolate was transformed into a clump with the addition of corn syrup.  So I added some heavy cream and powdered sugar.  Tasted fantastic even if it wasn’t what Dorie had in mind.  Since so many other people had trouble with the glaze, I’m wondering if the recipe was misprinted.

P.S. It has become apparent that the recipe is not listed at the above link. You can see it here instead.

Sheesh – I’d never have known you had problems… these look fantastic! Nice and chocolatey. The sprinkled nuts give it such a nice finish! I’ve yet to figure out the chocolate debacle…. it’s so finicky – but these look wonderful!

These look so pretty. Your drizzling is enviable. I have the worst time drizzling. I didn’t know what to do, so I just added more corn syrup and it turned out workable. It probably would be prettier if I knew how to drizzle, but it was passable. Guys loved them here. Yours look very elegant.

Paula ,
They look perfect, great photos. My family loved these and complained that there weren’t enough of them.
I just added cream to the glaze and it worked fine.

They look pretty perfect! You’ re really such a great baker (and picture-taker!)
Maybe you remeber I’m the one having those measuring problems because I have no cup-measure. Well, I really got one for birthday! It’s “only” from IKEA, and not one of these spoon-measures, but it’s ok and all I need, so I happy with it!
But still, thanks for your kind offer the other day!!
